Job Overview Title: Aerospace Chrome Masker - 1st Shift Reports to: Shift Supervisor or Value Stream Manager Location: Kent, WA - onsite Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time Schedule Type: 1st Shift Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. Normal Shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.) Full benefits package includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) matching, Performance Share incentive compensation (Profit Sharing Plan), 3-weeks paid time off to start, paid community service day, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, long-term care plan options, 10 paid holidays, and onsite health services that includes access to a massage therapist. Salary Range for position: $ 18.50 - $ 21.00. The pay range and total compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Position Summary: Employees in this position will apply a variety of maskants to parts in preparation for Chrome plating application. Maskers may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*. Maskers perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications. * FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with experienced Maskers, Platers, and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks. Follow shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Maskers, Platers, and Department Leads. General review of paperwork to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors. Prepare parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning. Apply maskants to parts as called out in Purchase Orders and Tech Cards. Perform pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements. Follow Quality Assurance requirements. Follow safety precautions as trained. Assist in other areas within the Value Stream as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must have a regular and dependable attendance record. Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English with other employees, Customers, and auditors. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility. Education & Experience: 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment a plus. Essential Mental/Physical Demands: Ability to lift occasionally: (floor to waist) 33 lbs., (waist to shoulder) 3 lbs (waist to waist) 3 lbs., 22 lbs. Ability to carry 33 lbs. occasionally. Ability to push/pull 38 lbs. occasionally. Ability to stand and walk occasionally. Ability to sit frequently. Ability to reach from the shoulder and overhead occasionally and from the waist constantly. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, crawl occasionally. Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally. Ability to push/pull and twist occasionally. Ability to pivot, grasp, pinch frequently. Ability to see/hear/feel constantly - hearing protection required when working in the area. Work Environment: Hearing protection required in certain areas. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. Temperature fluctuations based on outdoor conditions.
