About The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator to own our US payroll operations and support the financial and administrative components of our benefits programs. You'll be responsible for accurate and timely payroll for 500+ employees, multi-state payroll compliance, benefits invoice reconciliation, and the payroll and reconciliation processes associated with our self-insured health plans.

This is a highly hands-on role that will partner closely with Finance, People Ops, ADP, and our benefits partners. You'll serve as an internal payroll subject matter expert while helping us strengthen controls, improve processes, and scale our payroll and benefits operations as the company grows.

This is a remote-friendly opportunity that can sit in NYC (where our headquarters is located), one of our office hubs, or anywhere else in the US. However, depending upon where the remote work is performed, income could be subject to New York State tax withholding.

We expect East Coast work hours.

As Our Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator You Will:

• Own end-to-end US payroll processing for 500+ US employees, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll.
• Partner with Finance and People Ops to manage payroll inputs and changes, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, deductions, and leaves, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact and internal subject matter expert for payroll, resolving employee questions and partnering with ADP and internal stakeholders on payroll, tax, and deduction issues.
• Manage multi-state payroll and tax requirements for a distributed workforce, including appropriate handling of New York's Convenience of the Employer rule and related withholding requirements.
• Own payroll and invoicing-related benefits administration, including employee deduction changes, QLEs, and ongoing coordination with the People Ops benefits team.
• Review and reconcile benefits invoices and self-funded plan activity, validating employee eligibility, enrollment, payroll deductions, and plan fees, and partner with Accounting to resolve discrepancies and complete financial reconciliations.
• Own payroll and benefits reconciliations and support month-end, year-end, W-2 preparation, open enrollment, benefits renewals, audits, and other recurring processes.
• Maintain strong documentation and controls while identifying opportunities to automate, simplify, and scale payroll and benefits processes.

You Are Likely To Succeed If:

• You have 4+ years of hands-on payroll and benefits administration experience, including direct responsibility for running payroll through ADP Workforce Now for a US workforce of at least 500 employees and managing multi-state payroll. Experience reconciling benefits invoices is required; experience with self-insured benefits plans and New York's Convenience of the Employer rule is strongly preferred.
• You have strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll and tax requirements and are comfortable researching and resolving complex payroll and withholding questions.
• You have hands-on experience with benefits administration and invoice reconciliation and can confidently identify discrepancies across payroll, HRIS, carrier, and vendor data.
• You are highly proficient with Excel or Google Sheets and comfortable working with large datasets, reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
• You are exceptionally detail-oriented and take ownership of high-stakes, deadline-driven work, building appropriate checks and controls into your processes.
• You are a clear, empathetic communicator who can independently own recurring processes, exercise good judgment, and continuously look for ways to make payroll and benefits administration more efficient, scalable, and reliable.

• Base Salary Only: The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $105,000-115,000. Final compensation may be determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal team benchmarks.
• The compensation package also includes equity.

This role may be performed fully remotely within the United States. Please note that our US headquarters are located in NYC. If the remote work is performed outside of these offices, income may be subject to New York State tax withholding.
