Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 180–200 visits per day, serving a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Manage a patient ratio of 1:4, performing independent lab draws and IV starts
• Care for a diverse case mix including trauma, CVA, orthopedic, and neurological patients; recognize and facilitate appropriate transfer cases
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, NP/PA providers, nurse aides, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy staff
• Support patients requiring behavioral health observation within a dedicated 6-bed locked behavioral unit staffed by psychiatry
• Utilize the Meditech EMR system for all documentation; adhere to auto lunch deduction policy and complete required orientation during the first week of assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 5 years of emergency room nursing experience
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR (version 6.15)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ACLS or NIHSS, and CPI
• Ability to work every other weekend and every other holiday

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a trauma-receiving emergency department
• Familiarity with central monitoring and ventilator management protocols in an ED setting
• Prior experience in a high-volume ED with behavioral health patient populations
