About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience, including at least 1 travel assignment License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: - Meditech experience - Ability to work in a high-volume setting Description: The role requires working in a fast-paced emergency room environment. The emergency department sees approximately 180-200 patient visits per day. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Common diagnoses include trauma, neurological emergencies, and orthopedic cases. Some trauma patients will be retained, while others will be transferred. The facility is designated as a CVA center. Nurses will perform their own lab draws and start their own IVs. There is a 24/7 respiratory therapy team dedicated to the emergency room. A pharmacy is available on campus 24/7. The nurse will work under a charge nurse and alongside nurse aides and paramedics. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Holiday shifts are also required every other year. Scrub color is Caribbean Blue. There is an expectation of punctuality and reliability. Completion of required training during the first week is critical. All travelers should be prepared for potential call-out scenarios. The emergency room includes 6 bed behavioral lockdown areas staffed by psychiatric personnel.
