About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 17 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 5+ years License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: Meditech experience, 1 travel assignment experience Description: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 travel assignment. Candidates must possess experience with the Meditech system. The department serves a high volume of patients, with approximately 180-200 visits per day. The nurse-patient ratio is 1 to 4. The unit includes a behavioral lockdown area staffed by psychiatric professionals. Weekend work is required every other weekend, and holiday work is required every other holiday. All nurses are responsible for performing their own lab draws. A dedicated respiratory therapist will be available 24/7 to manage ventilators. Pharmacy services are available 24/7. Common patient diagnoses include a range from pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma and neuro cases. Certain patients may be stabilized in the unit before being transferred to specialized care. Candidates must be prepared to complete the orientation process within the first week of employment. Caribbean blue scrubs are the required uniform. Additional expectations will be communicated during the onboarding process.
