About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to lead the development and maintenance of its enterprise risk management framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing risk management policies, procedures, and appetite statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic risk guidance to senior management and the Board of Directors. This executive role involves independent second-line review and challenge of reinsurance transactions, with a focus on assessing key risk exposures, pricing, capital implications, and alignment with the company's risk appetite. The Chief Risk Officer will also be involved in the company's capital adequacy, liquidity position, asset-liability management, investment activities, credit exposures, stress testing, and solvency management framework. Applicants for the Chief Risk Officer position at the company should have a university degree, with an actuarial credential being preferred. A minimum of 10 years' work experience is required, with a background in life and annuity (re)insurance, particularly in the area of asset-intensive liabilities. The role demands a candidate with the ability to independently assess reinsurance risk, evaluate the pricing of reinsurance transactions, and substantial experience in Bermuda regulatory matters, including direct interaction with the BMA. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in establishing risk frameworks and producing regulatory filings, as well as a deep understanding of the reinsurance market. The role also requires the ability to stay current with regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging risks in the reinsurance sector.
