Triage Center Nurse Specialist

About This Role The Triage Center Nurse Specialist will provide critical assessments of injuries and illnesses, guiding patients and callers to the appropriate care. This role is ideal for nurses who excel in customer service and can adapt to a fast‑paced environment. Highlights Location: Syracuse, NY Facility: Upstate University Hospital Schedule: Part‑time, 4-hour day shifts, with weekends and holidays What You’ll Do Provide critical and timely assessments of injuries and illnesses. Guide patients and callers to the correct disposition for care. Manage multiple phone lines and responsibilities for nurse triage requests. Conduct follow‑up phone calls to discharged patients. Ensure access to a nurse 24 hours a day for health information questions. Prioritize customer service and complete customer satisfaction. Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, Associates degree in Nursing with three years of hospital‑based experience accepted. Experience: 1 year of hospital‑based experience required, acute care experience preferred. Licenses & Certifications: NYS licensed/registered RN (or eligible). CPR‑BLS certification required at the time of appointment.
