Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (Travel) | Clearlake, CA, United States | start 08/17/2026 | 9 weeks | 48 guaranteed hours per week | Night shift (3x12-hour shifts) | Critical Access Hospital setting in the Women’s Care Unit. This assignment involves caring for patients from labor through postpartum and providing newborn care up to 28 days of life, with collaboration across disciplines to ensure safe, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to obstetric patients and newborns from labor to postpartum, plus infant care up to 28 days.
- Monitor fetal status, respond to obstetric emergencies, and coordinate care with obstetricians, pediatricians, and support staff.
- Administer medications, manage IVs, monitor vital signs, and assist with procedures in the labor and delivery suite and nursery.
- Support newborn stabilization and maternal education; participate in discharge planning and family-centered teaching.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient record; ensure HIPAA compliance and patient safety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement individualized care, including postpartum recovery and newborn care.

Requirements
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Licenses: Current California RN license.
- Certifications: Current BLS certification; NRP and hospital conscious sedation certification required to be held (NRP and hospital conscious sedation certification must be obtained as specified, with ongoing recertification every two years); AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification must be obtained within six months of employment and recertified every two years.
- Experience: At least one year of labor and delivery experience; nursery experiences (any level) and postpartum experience are appreciated. Notes mention 3–4 years experience as preferred.
- Additional: Basic computer skills; ability to work night shifts; strong newborn stabilization skills (STABLE recommended).
