Onsite Service Operations Specialist - San Francisco Bay Area

The Opportunity In this role, you will report to the Supervisor of Operation Specialist and work closely with the Avantor™ Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission‑based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Overnight travel required; eligible for overnight travel bonus. Will use personal vehicle; ability to fly if traveling further out. Full COVID‑19 vaccination and booster required for site coverage. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Prior experience in a GMP facility strongly desired. Strong communication skills. Knowledge of Information Access and System ESS. Valid driver’s license required for essential functions. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Travel between multiple locations in the San Francisco area. Mileage reimbursement for client‑location travel. Having a CDL is a plus, not required. Cross‑referencing and inside‑sales experience beneficial. Forklift certification a plus. Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services a plus. Familiarity with IATA, DOT, OSHA Right‑to‑Know, or IMDG a plus. Responsibilities Support multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform the functions of coordinators, technicians, material handlers, or glass washers when scheduled vacations, leave, or emergencies occur. Act as a backup to other territories and may be required to travel outside the designated territory. Coordinate and lead team efforts and perform work related to customer requirements. Work closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On‑The‑Job Training, and other assorted tasks, along with direct customer interfacing. Interface directly with customer Point‑of‑Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers to procure lab supplies and materials. Utilize Avantor and customer computer systems (SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, etc.). Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings. Provide SAP support (full customer services, credit rebills, invoice scrubbing). Modify and maintain quality metrics and key performance indicators. Manage a budget related to expense reports. Meet revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality goals and objectives. Create programs for enhanced service efficiencies. Perform other duties as assigned. Pay Transparency The expected pre‑tax pay for this position is $47,000.00 – $75,900.00. Actual pay may differ depending on prior experience and geographic location.
