Monday - Friday daytime hours. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily store operations to achieve or advance sales and margin goals Promote sales and deliver excellent customer service Maintain inventory levels and balance expenses through purchase supporting Ensure facility and staff alignment to safety and regulatory standards Empower team members in providing efficient customer service, maintaining good housekeeping, and harmonizing overall operational efficiency Provide professional customer service for internal and external customers and respond to product, pricing, and technical inquiries Support the outside sales team in nurturing existing client relationships and welcoming new business opportunities Process accurate and timely financial transactions, including cash reports, charge tickets, coding, costing, pricing, daily cash summaries, and bank deposits Maintain the accuracy of back order, open order, and Purchase Order (PO) expedite reports Manage cylinder and hard goods inventory levels for the branch Facilitate and lead training for inside sales associates on product knowledge and company policies, processes, procedures, and safety Conduct periodic performance reviews for branch associates Act as a bridge between employees and management, providing performance mentorship and guidance in collaboration with Human Resources and senior management Required Qualifications Previous management experience in a customer‑facing environment Background in supporting and leading teams within a retail or industrial distribution environment Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and occasionally up to 125 lbs with material handling equipment Proficient computer skills and interest in learning new digital tools Ability to navigate multiple priorities concurrently Self‑motivated with a focus on contributing to the overall team’s success Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively act as a bridge between staff and management Preferred Qualifications Track record of meaningful contributions in the welding, gas, or safety industry 3+ years of experience in a role focused on nurturing team growth and operational efficiency 5+ years’ experience in sales with a track record of meaningful contributions Experience with inventory cultivation and vendor relationship support Travel Requirements Occasional travel (5% of work time) may be required.
