Accounting Associate

The Accounting Associate is responsible for processing and managing the accounts payable process. This position also requires effective communication with a remote General Manager and Office Manager on a routine basis. This is a full-time position and reports to the Accounting Manager.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Enter and code invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper account and entity allocations.
• Prepare and process manual check payments and electronic payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements, promptly resolving any discrepancies or issues.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate vendor records.
• Address vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and payment terms and assist with 1099 reporting for year-end processing.
• Identify prepaid expenses and ensure they are recorded and amortized appropriately in accordance with company policy
• Assist with month-end close, including AP accruals
• Understand and apply fixed asset capitalization policies when reviewing payables.
• Participate in other projects and activities as assigned including payroll journal entries and bank reconciliations.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

• 1+ years of experience or industry-specific education required.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience with a minimum of an associate's degree.

Pay Range: $45,000 - $50,000 per year
