Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist
Chevy Chase, Maryland Pay From $19/HR. MUST: Experienced Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist 2 plus years of experience as a Medical Assistant Medical Receptionist Must have experience with Phlebotomy Must have experience work on EMR; knowledge of Epic highly preferred Must have strong experience verifying insurance and handling prior authorizations Must be a Medical Assistant diploma or Certified/Registered as a Medical Assistant or willing to obtain
DUTIES: Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Triage patients
- Prepare medical records
- Room patients
- Provide clinical help
- Welcome patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
- Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays
- Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
- Perform data entry and processing
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain medical records
