Part-time; approximately 20-22 hours per week during the school year. Summer hours are anticipated to be reduced to approximately 18 hours per week; details to be confirmed.

Schedule

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, approximately 11 AM to 6 PM. Occasional evening flexibility is welcomed but not required. Summer schedule to be discussed; the family is open to a modified arrangement including possible project-based support.

Compensation

$32–$35 per hour.

Start Date

After Labor Day 2026.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Maintain a smoke-free environment.
• Reliable personal transportation required.
• Candidates are required to be up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines (including COVID-19 and influenza), subject to applicable legal accommodations.
• CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to obtain certification.
• Fragrance-free.

About the Family

We are a warm, energetic, and loving family of five relocating to Weston, Connecticut, as we begin an exciting new chapter in suburban life. Our family includes three active children, ages 8, 6, and 4. One parent works from home full-time while the other commutes into New York City several days a week, making our home the center of a busy schedule filled with school, after-school activities, and family life.

We're looking for someone to become a trusted part of our family's support system. We already have wonderful help from nearby family and a housekeeper, so this role is about thoughtfully filling the gaps—helping our home run smoothly, anticipating needs, and creating more space for us to enjoy time together. We value open communication, collaboration, and building long-term relationships, and we're hoping to find someone who truly enjoys becoming part of a family team. Our favorite caregivers have been those who naturally fit into our home, built meaningful relationships with our children, and brought a steady, positive presence each day.

Our home is happiest when it feels calm, organized, and connected. We appreciate someone who notices the little things before they become big things—keeping household essentials stocked, helping maintain organized spaces, staying ahead of family routines, and bringing a proactive, can-do attitude to each day. We follow a kosher-style diet at home and do not prepare or serve pork or shellfish.

Key Responsibilities

Family Support & Child Assistance

• After-school pickups: preschooler pickup early afternoon around 1:30 PM; older children pickup between 3:15 - 4:45 pm depending on after school activity schedule
• Provide warm, engaging after-school support, helping the children transition from the school day through snacks, activities, and a calm, positive afternoon routine
• Empty and prep backpacks daily; organize school paperwork for the parents
• Proactively schedule playdates and/or organize afternoon activities and build relationships with other caregivers in the community

Household Organization & Maintenance

• Create and maintain household organizational systems throughout the home
• Daily reset: light tidying, dishes, surfaces, and high-traffic vacuuming to keep the home prepped and clean between cleaner visits (1x per week)
• Seasonal clothing, décor, and bedding swaps
• Prepare items for donation and coordinate drop-offs
• Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, and filters as needed
• Assist with packing for travel and outings as needed

Inventory & Errands

• Manage pantry, fridge, and household supply inventory; note when items are running low
• Fill-in grocery runs between weekly scheduled orders done by family
• Handle package receiving and breakdown; manage returns and dry cleaning as needed

Meal Planning & Prep

• Batch cooking to keep the fridge stocked with weekly meals & ready-to-use ingredients: grains, chopped vegetables, proteins, and healthy snacks
• Kitchen cleanup following any cooking or meal prep
• Monitor fridge for expired items and replace as needed
• All meal prep adheres to the family's kosher-style guidelines (no shellfish or pork)

Laundry & Linens

• Wash, fold, and organize family laundry. Assistance with linens as needed. 
• Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

• Occasional deep cleaning of items like the refrigerator and oven as needed
• Refresh mudroom, entry, and garage as needed
• Organizational projects: toys, gear, pantry, closets, and seasonal transitions

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

• Contribute to and maintain awareness of the family's calendar
• Receipt and expense tracking for role-related purchases
