Champion Communication in the Heart of Music City – Become Our Next Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career where every day is an opportunity to bring voice to purpose. In the thriving and eclectic community of Nashville, your role as a Speech Language Pathologist will reach far beyond the treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. Here, you will unlock potential, foster growth, and cultivate deeply human connections — supporting everyone from young children uttering their very first words to older adults reclaiming their autonomy.
This position offers the chance to engage with diverse populations, providing care that evolves throughout every stage of life. The beautiful blend of outpatient services with occasional inpatient work means you can indulge your passions for pediatric speech development, adult language impairment, or geriatric cognitive rehabilitation. It's the perfect place to flourish professionally and personally.
Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized assessments and direct observation techniques.
- Create individualized treatment plans focused on both immediate needs and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication skills, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
- Work closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop unified care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and families to empower progress beyond the therapeutic environment.
- Occasionally contribute to inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care along the recovery path.
- Maintain precise and prompt documentation in compliance with applicable state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Remain engaged in the latest developments in speech-language pathology through continuous education and collaborative opportunities with peers.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for diverse age groups, with a nuanced understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges.
- Exceptional communication abilities with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Capability to tailor therapy approaches to suit a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
Benefits
- Attractive salary based on experience.
- Flexible work schedules to promote a healthy work-life balance and varied patient loads.
- Opportunities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
- Financial support for continued education and opportunities for professional growth.
- An inclusive, team-oriented atmosphere that emphasizes quality patient care and ongoing learning.
A Journey of Healing and Connection Awaits
In this position, you will not just deliver speech therapy; you will contribute to a mission of empowerment, enhancing communication and creating meaningful interactions through the foundational acts of listening and understanding.
Embrace the opportunity to work alongside dedicated professionals who treat each other like family, in a culture where collaboration supersedes competition. Every patient comes with a unique story; we believe in your ability to help narrate their journey.
