Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
• Administers medications safely according to UHS Hospitals policy.
• Shares responsibility for productivity and resource utilization.
• Complies with nursing practice standards and UHS policies.
• Participates in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives.
• Engages in professional development and continuing education.
• Integrates nursing research and evidence into practice.
• Supports new employees and students in a learning environment.
• Performs duties related to Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.
• Participates in the Clinical Ladder Program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 6 months – 3 years of Nursing (RN) experience.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
