Permitting Supervisor - Electric Utilities

Role Description

Cordoba Corporation is seeking a Permitting Supervisor to join our Energy-Electric sector and support electric utility infrastructure projects. As a Permitting Supervisor, you will be collaborating with our project management team, working closely with engineering, environmental, land services, construction, and various state and local agencies in the preparation, review, submittal, and expediting of related permits.

• Prepare and defend permit submittals including access permits, traffic control, encroachment, roadway crossings, and FAA permits.
• Assemble, check, and submit permit packages either directly or through client’s submittal personnel.
• Expedite permit package preparation, award, re-issue throughout the lifecycle of post design through energization and close-out.
• Attend team and client work status meetings, design review meetings, and participate in site assessment document reviews.
• Manage interaction with both internal and client permit teams and key stakeholders during initial design and engineering phases.
• Attend assigned permit bureau meetings to maintain current knowledge of permitting processes and changes.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with client staff, public, development community, and permitting agency staff.
• Stay up to date on evolving agency requirements and permitting practices.
• Inform team of all new and trending changes related to the permitting process.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of direct Electric utility and underground infrastructure permitting experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1-2 years of supervisor experience required.
• Prior QA/QC review experience in various document types required.
• Ability to interpret/understand technically written documents and create, draft, and edit designs and permitting applications required.
• Knowledge of and prior work with the Caltrans DSDD, EPE, & Encroachment application processes preferred.
• Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Proficiency using KMZ review and creation via Google Earth Pro.
• Proficiency using Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible, adaptable to change, and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Capability to guide and supervise a team in permit processes.

Requirements

• Pay Range: $120,000 - $162,000 per year.
• Work Location: Remote.
• Travel: Quarterly travel in the Southern CA area.
• Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check.
