Sr Manager, Pub Safety Ops

Job Summary

This leader has operational accountability and oversight of the system public safety and parking operations inclusive of safety and security technology within the scope of the department and acts as the secondary lead for emergency management and planning. This leader also serves as the Directors designee during his/her this role the leader sets the tone and models positive leadership and outcome-based behaviors while ensuring teamwork tasks projects and responsibilities are completed successfully in support of departmental and organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

- Require a Bachelors degree. An Associates degree and two (2) years of relevant security/military supervisory experience or High School diploma and four (4) years of relevant hospital security/military supervisory experience will substitute for the required Bachelors degree.
- Require a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience in hospital security military law enforcement or related field.
- Require current/active IAHSS Certified Security Supervisor (CHSS) certification and continuously maintain certification thereafter. Initial certification within six (6) months of employment is permitted.
- Require International Hospital Safety and Security Certification - Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA). Initial certification within twelve (12) months of employment is permitted.
- Require Taser Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

- Prefer International Board for Certification of Safety Managers Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP).
- Prefer instructor experience in the field of safety security and emergency management.
- Prefer competency with use of computers.
- Prefer demonstrated exceptional verbal and written skills as well as the ability to participate in public speaking and a variety of leadership level meetings.
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge/experience in Emergency Management related to the All Hazards approach as well as Joint Commission Standards related to Security/Safety/Emergency Management.
- Prefer previous experience as an instructor and/or trainer as well as experience in criminal investigations and interviews.
- Prefer previous participation in a Joint Commission survey as a key member of the Security/Safety/Emergency Management team.
- Prefer the ability to direct others with confidence and professionalism in stressful situations.
- Prefer the ability to perform duties independently and exercise independent judgment.
