Planner / Scheduler

The Production Planner/Scheduler translates customer demand into achievable production plans by coordinating materials, labor, engineering readiness, and capacity across multiple teams. This highly visible role directly impacts production efficiency, on-time delivery, and the site’s ability to anticipate and resolve constraints. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer priorities, backlog, material availability, labor capacity, and operational constraints. Review open orders and production priorities daily, adjusting schedules as customer needs and operating conditions change. Create, release, and maintain work orders in SAP and DBA, ensuring engineering documentation and materials are ready before production begins. Partner with Material Handling, Purchasing, and Production to address shortages, expedite materials, adjust schedules, and keep work moving through assembly, wiring, and testing. Monitor long‑lead and customer‑consigned materials, identify potential delays, and communicate risks before they affect production or customer commitments. Balance workloads across production areas to improve workflow and minimize bottlenecks. Provide Sales and Customer Service with realistic completion dates and timely updates when delivery commitments are at risk. Prepare schedule updates, priorities, constraints, and recovery plans for production meetings. Analyze on-time‑delivery misses, coordinate root‑cause analysis and corrective actions, and improve planning processes and system‑data accuracy. Develop short‑and long‑term capacity plans, identify constraints, and recommend actions to meet customer demand. Key Success Measures: Production priorities are clear, achievable, and aligned across Sales, Engineering, Materials, and Operations. Material and capacity risks are identified early, reducing shortages, schedule changes, and production disruptions. Schedule accuracy and on-time delivery improve through better planning, communication, and follow‑through. Experience & Education Required: Associates degree or equivalent experience is required. A bachelor’s degree in Supply chain or Operations is strongly preferred 3+ years of planning experience CPIM certification through APICS a plus SAP experience strongly preferred Proficient in Excel Hiring Min: $75,000 Hiring Max: $105,000 *The above represents the essential job functions that you are assigned to perform in your job.
