JOB SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for key day-to-day accounting functions and will support in areas such as financial statement preparation and analysis, forecasting and budgeting, and other related financial activities. JOB responsibilities: Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization. Prepare monthly balance sheets, and income statements. Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly. Verifies ledger coding on payables, sets up new vendor accounts. Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts. Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit. Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures. Perform all Organizational reconciliation(s) Utilize the Result Count framework in daily accounting activities. Performs other related duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software. Experience with Blackbaud, Concur, and ADP or similar platforms are a plus. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required. At least three years of related experience required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
