What we need:

Mohawk is looking for a Coater Operator in the Dalton, Ga area. You will operate coater within manufacturing facilities.  Observe upcoming styles, adjust speed and temperature for each style, and apply chemicals to styles that treat.  Adjust tenter wings to pin selvedge properly, and watch backing being applied to carpet.

What you’ll do:

• Clean tenter wings
• Clean latex lumps from puddle as needed. 
• Remove trash or latex off carpet as needed
• Clean oven screens
• Change backing
• Change filter baskets
• Clean bottom and top applicator rollers
• Perform weight checks at prescribed intervals
• Attend any job related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Follow all established standard operating procedures
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

What you have:

• High school or GED and two-years related experience.
• Work experience, or equivalent training and experience that provides the incumbent with the knowledge of basic or commonly used rules, procedures or operations, or basic skills to use office equipment.
• Knowledge of Company brands and product information required to perform the essential functions of this job

What you’re good at:

• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in a team; work well with others and must show enthusiasm, initiate and pride in work
• Ability to form basic mathematics and weight measures

• Written communication, organizational skills and problem-solving capabilities, detail oriented and the ability to communicate with others
• Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions and interpret department operating standards
• Under minimum supervision, job duties are subject to specific instructions and standard work routine.
• Ability to communicate in standard English to understand and follow verbal or written instructions and to keep simple records and make reports.

What else:

• Ability to continuously lift up to 20 pounds.
• Must be able to walk long distances, climb on ladders, and stand for long periods of time. 
• Bending, crouching, reaching, kneeling and stooping may be required.  Must also be able to work in non-climate controlled facilities. C
• lose vision depth perception and color perceptions are required to perform this job. 
• Work environment is a noisy, high traffic production floor. 
• May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends and holidays. Willing to work in all types of weather.
