Company: Summit Safety RedBalloon posts jobs on behalf of client companies Job Summary The Human Resources Manager plays a critical role in shaping and executing HR strategies that support organizational objectives while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This position is responsible for overseeing key HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and policy implementation. Acting as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and a trusted partner to employees, the HR Manager fosters an inclusive, positive, and high-performing workplace culture. Key Responsibilities Policies, Compliance & HR Operations Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws across multiple states. Oversee HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, FMLA, leave administration, and personnel documentation. Maintain accurate records of personnel actions, benefit enrollments, promotions, and transfers. Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulatory requirements, and internal standards. Provide guidance to leadership on policy interpretation, employment law trends, and HR best practices. Talent Acquisition & Performance Management Oversee full-cycle recruiting for all departments, ensuring consistent and effective hiring practices. Coordinate and facilitate new-hire orientation to ensure a smooth transition for new employees. Develop and manage performance review processes and documentation, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous development. Provide training and support to managers on interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, and goal setting. Conduct exit interviews and maintain related documentation to support continuous improvement. Payroll, Benefits & HR Systems Administration Manage payroll processing in coordination with the company's payroll service provider to ensure accuracy and compliance. Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans; educate and support employees regarding benefit offerings. Oversee HRIS and timekeeping systems, ensuring accurate time recording, approvals, and compliance with company standards. Monitor and administer attendance policies, ensuring consistent application across the organization. Employee Relations, Culture & Communication Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on employee relations matters and conflict resolution. Promote a positive, inclusive, and professional workplace culture through communication, coaching, and recognition initiatives. Support leadership in building strong communication channels within and across both business units. Provide coaching and feedback to employees and managers to support professional growth and alignment with company values. Health, Safety & Risk Management Lead and collaborate with the Safety Team to enhance workplace safety policies, programs, and procedures. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and relevant safety regulations. Oversee workers' compensation claims and reporting requirements. Coordinate required safety training (e.g., forklift certifications) and maintain associated records. Promote ongoing safety awareness and risk mitigation across all departments. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree and HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or related). Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills. 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3–5 years in an HR managerial role.
