What you’ll do: Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Finance is responsible for implementing financial strategies, managing accounting and budgeting, and ensuring the financial health of our organization. This is a key leadership role that will collaborate with the senior leadership team to contribute to the overall strategic planning and decision-making for Prairie Co-op. The ideal candidate is a proactive and experienced leader with a strong background in finance and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of financial practice. The key responsibilities areas include: Provide leadership for Prairie Co-op’s Finance function, including general accounting, cost management, budgeting and IT. Understand and forecast business, industry, and economic trends to align and implement financial programs and policies. Develop and foster strong working relationships within the leadership team, actively participate in strategic planning and decision making, and participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and programs. Oversee the development and execution of the Prairie Co-op’s overall financial strategy, including accounting/financial reporting, budgeting, tax, audits, and external investing activities. Provide financial analyses, studies, and counsel on matters of significant financial impact, including economic/competitive trends, pricing, cash flow, product line evaluation, and capital additions. Lead and manage the finance team, including talent management, recruitment, and performance evaluation. Ensure the company’s financial and regulatory compliance and anticipate business challenges and opportunities. Develop and implement the department’s business plan and budget, including preparing and delivering presentations to various audiences. Who you are: You are looking for a career in Finance and: A degree in business or Finance is preferred. CPA designation is an asset. You have over 10 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, with prior leadership experience. You’re familiar with forecasting and budgeting, inventory control and asset management, internal and external audit for regulatory due diligence.
