Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Kings Point, NY (Hybrid) Clearance: Public Trust Experience: 5–7 Years Pay Rate: $40-$45/Hr
Role Overview: Seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The role involves managing secure, high-performing networks in a NIST/FISMA-compliant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & support LAN/WAN/DMZ/Wireless networks
- Configure and manage Cisco routers & switches
- Handle firewalls, VPNs, and network security
- Troubleshoot L2/L3 network issues
- Manage Active Directory & Group Policies
- Maintain network documentation & standards
- Support Windows Server & Windows 11 environments
Must-Have Skills:
- Cisco networking (routing & switching)
- Wireless network design & optimization
- Firewall & VPN management
- Network security tools
- Strong troubleshooting & root cause analysis
- PowerShell scripting
Nice-to-Have:
- Aruba (Wireless & NAC)
- Nutanix (Prism / AHV)
- Government/NIST/FISMA experience
- Certifications CCNA / CCNP / ITIL v3 (at least one required)
