Our IFP portfolio provides affordable coverage, accessible benefits, and a simplified enrollment and member service experience across diverse markets.The ACA Agency Manager for UnitedHealthcare Individual & Family Plans plays a key role in driving membership growth across an assigned subset of West Region markets while residing in one of the preferred markets of Washington, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Colorado, Arizona, Nebraska, or Wyoming. This role builds solid relationships with agents, agencies, community partners, and key market stakeholders; strengthens sales capability through training and coaching; and ensures a compliant, consumer-focused sales experience within the ACA Individual & Family Plan market. Success in this role requires leadership, solid cross-functional partnership, and a commitment to culture, collaboration, and market presence.If you are located in the West region, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Achieve assigned sales and membership growth targets across an assigned subset of West Region markets while living in one of the preferred residence marketsBuild, recruit, and manage a high-performing distribution network across independent agents, agencies, and Field Marketing Organizations (FMOs) contracted with UnitedHealthcareLead agent onboarding and readiness, including contracting, licensing and appointments, certification, training, and ongoing field supportDevelop and maintain solid community relationships within assigned markets, including partnerships with local organizations, providers, associations, and community-based groups that support market awareness and consumer engagementPartner closely with state-based exchanges and other market-specific stakeholders to support effective execution, visibility, and alignment within assigned marketsServe as a liaison between agents, agencies, and internal sales process owners to ensure a smooth agent lifecycle experience, including enrollment administration, commissions, servicing, tools, and systems supportBuild solid cross-team partnerships across the enterprise, including collaboration with network, marketing, actuarial, product, and other key internal teams to support growth, market execution, and issue resolutionPlan and execute market-specific communications, meetings, and field activities to drive efficient coordination and solid sales execution across assigned statesDeliver virtual and in-person training to improve product knowledge, sales execution, and adherence to ACA, CMS, state, and company compliance requirementsMonitor sales results, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs); provide coaching and hold agents and agencies accountable to performance expectationsDemonstrate visible leadership in the market and across internal partnerships, helping foster a solid culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellenceEnsure agents follow federal and state-specific sales and marketing regulations, UnitedHealthcare policies, and all applicable compliance standards across assigned marketsYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Active health insurance license in a West Region market (or ability to obtain licenses in assigned states)2+ years of experience partnering with brokers, conducting sales trainings (in-person and virtually)Affordable Care Act (ACA) Individual & Family Plan experience, including knowledge of applicable sales and marketing regulations and guidelinesExperience managing external distribution channels, motivating, goal setting and goal achievementExperience presenting live to all levels of organization including senior/executive leadersProficiency AIAbility to travel up to 25% Reside within one of the preferred West Region markets: WA, NM, OK, KS, MO, IA, CO, AZ, NE, or WYDriver's License and access to reliable transportationPreferred Qualifications:Experience working with the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) and State-Based Exchanges across Individual & Family Plan marketsIndividual & Family Plan sales, managed care, outside sales, broker distribution, or territory management experience across multiple marketsDemonstrated success building community relationships, partnering with external stakeholders, and working effectively with the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM), State-Based Exchanges, or similar market entitiesProven ability to build solid cross-functional partnerships across enterprise teams, including network, marketing, actuarial, and productProven solid leadership presence with the ability to influence, collaborate, and contribute positively to team culture across a matrixed organizationEstablished professional contacts/relationships or active within the community (i.e., non-profits, health providers, community, or faith-based organizations, etc.)Bilingual*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $75,000 - $160,000 annually based on full-time employment. This role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance.
