The shift is three 12-hour night shifts. Experience of at least one year is required. First-time travelers accepted with at least one year of experience and Epic experience. Weekend coverage is mandatory, every other weekend. Floating between various like units is required. Local travelers are not eligible for this position. Pending licenses are accepted, but quick starts are preferred. There are no reported time-off restrictions, though preference is given to requests under seven days. The emergency center sees approximately 170 patients a day of all ages. It is a level 1 stroke and cardiac center as well as a level III trauma facility, functioning as a level II. The facility has a total of 325 staffed beds. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily patient visits average around 170. The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams. The workload consists of care for a range of patient diagnoses, including those requiring extensive monitoring and intervention. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities when necessary. Refusal to float may result in contract termination. Prior experience in large facilities, particularly with trauma patients, is a plus. Successful completion of required training modules is necessary before starting the assignment. All scheduling requests must be made upfront during the application process.
