About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience required License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge nurse experience required Description: Float RN position in a step-down unit. Shifts are from 19:00 to 07:30. Patient population may include a variety of cases including ER-boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical. Nurses are part of a team that floats to fill the needs across different units. Patient-to-nurse ratio typically varies from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on unit acuity. Charge responsibilities may apply on smaller units within the facility. On small units, the sole RN functions as the Charge Nurse. Charge nurse duties include managing staffing needs, bed flow, and coordination. Experience in the United States is required; Canadian experience alone is not sufficient. Floating between units and potentially sister facilities may be required. The facility engages in multiple support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Must have experience managing various medical procedures and patient care protocols. Candidates must be flexible with holiday scheduling and availability. References covering relevant experience within the last three years are required.
