Summary This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Integrated Services Division, Real Property Program Management Office (RP PMO). 1 vacancy in the following locations: Aliso Viejo CA, Euless TX, Washington D.C. Duties RP PMO provides proactive management of the OFAM Real Property Portfolio and consists of all real estate and leasing products and services, including acquisition of permanent and temporary interests in real property, Occupancy Agreement oversight and execution, lease administration and dispute resolution, special use permits, free space agreements, inventory control, disposal oversight, and fiscal reporting of land acquisition expenditures as required. In this Branch Chief position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals serving as a Program Manager over a critical facilities and associated infrastructure, design and construction projects and program segment for which both the scope and effect of the work have CBP-wide impact. This position starts at a salary of $125,776.00 (GS‑14, Step 1) to $163,514.00 (GS‑14, Step 10). Visit the Locality Pay tables for your geographic area. Typical work assignments include: Managing program and project budgets and verifying funds for real estate actions with various stakeholders, including business partners, leadership, and finance. Managing personnel resources within a real property program; responsible for resource leveling workload across a variety of personnel resources to include contract support and federal employees. Performing cost analysis to determine whether it is more economical to relocate the agency organization, reconfigure existing space to accommodate the organization's space needs, or lease/acquire new space within the Federal Acquisition Regulation provisions. Serving as a coordinator and representative for key management officials for major realty related issues. Initiating and participating in review and improvement of work methods, goal accomplishment, description of duties, disciplinary actions and quality of advice provided by OFAM leadership. Leadership Training: All newly appointed supervisors and managers are required to complete mandatory training. The training will be scheduled by the Office of Training and Development within the first 90 days of appointment and will include 4 weeks of in‑resident training in Harpers Ferry, WV. This training may be waived if previously completed. Requirements You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position. Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS‑14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Serving as a portfolio and project manager for projects dealing with real property related issues. Serving as liaison for major acquisitions for strategic operational real property acquisition and divestiture actions. Coordinating the development and planning of real estate activities in support of ongoing day and contingency operations. Serving as a coordinator and representative for key management officials for realty related issues. Background Investigation: CBP requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment.
