• Shift: Mon-Fri 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM; On-Call (Weekday evenings 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM; Weekends 7:00 AM Saturday – 7:00 AM Monday)
• Hours/Week: Full-time, approximately 40+ hours

• Experience Needed: Prior interventional cardiology experience preferred

What You’ll Do:

• Provide interventional cardiology services including balloon angioplasties, PCI, heart catheterizations, and carotid stenting
• Respond to emergent cases like STEMI activations (average around 159 per year, with some cancellations)
• Collaborate with a team of interventional cardiologists and other healthcare providers
• Document patient care efficiently in EPIC EMR
• Support inpatient management and possible rounding responsibilities
• Ensure quality care for adult and geriatric populations in a hospital setting

What You Need:

• Active Virginia medical license and current certifications
• Prior cardiology/interventional cardiology experience
• Ability to perform procedures such as PCI, angiograms, and vascular management
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

About the Assignment:
This role is at a busy 250-bed facility in Mechanicsville, VA, with a strong cardiology team consisting of approximately 18 VCS interventional cardiologists and 5 RHV cardiologists. The physician will provide critical interventional procedures and support a high-volume cath lab environment. The facility supports emergency privileges with reimbursement for travel and accommodations.
