This position allows you to work remotely, providing flexibility while engaging with clients through virtual counseling sessions. Our standard workweek is from Monday to Friday, with working hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their specific psychological and emotional care needs.

• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions that focus on emotional challenges related to aging, such as depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders.

• Collaborate actively with other healthcare professionals to design and implement tailored care plans consisting of evidence-based interventions aimed at enhancing well-being.

• Provide education and guidance to staff and family members on effective strategies to support elderly individuals' emotional health and improve their quality of life.

• Deliver grief and loss counseling to residents and their families facing end-of-life issues, helping them navigate their emotional responses and understand the grieving process.

• Implement cognitive stimulation programs and mental health strategies to foster cognitive health among elderly individuals, promoting mental acuity and quality of life.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on elderly adults, many of whom are navigating significant life transitions. These clients may be coping with issues related to health decline, loss of loved ones, or feelings of isolation. You will work with a diverse group of patients and their families, requiring a nuanced understanding of cultural sensitivities and empathetic engagement.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution or university.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in the state of Massachusetts.

• A minimum of four years of recent experience in geriatric counseling, with a history of providing mental health support to elderly populations.

• Additional specialization or training in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues is highly preferred.

• Demonstrable knowledge of evidence-based practices that promote mental and emotional well-being in seniors.

Compensation and Benefits\n
