About the job Remote | Physics Expert (AMO / Quantum Information) - $80-$160/hour We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Physics Experts in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics, Quantum Optics, and Quantum Information with strong expertise in Bogoliubov transformations, covariance-matrix methods, homodyne detection, quantum-noise analysis, sideband photocurrent spectra, and lossy quantum optical systems. Selected professionals will contribute to a frontier research-level benchmarking project involving cascaded optical parametric amplifiers, SU(1,1) interferometers, two-mode squeezing, and realistic loss mechanisms. Contributors may participate as Solvers, Auditors, or Adjudicators depending on subfield expertise, research experience, and hands-on familiarity with the required methods. No prior experience in AI is required. Key Responsibilities Quantum Optical System Modelling Analyse cascaded optical parametric amplifiers Model SU(1,1) interferometric systems Evaluate system behaviour under realistic optical loss Assess quantum correlations, squeezing, and noise properties Compare theoretical predictions across different parameter regimes Bogoliubov Transformations Apply Bogoliubov transformations to quantum optical systems Track transformations of field operators through cascaded components Analyse two-mode squeezing and parametric amplification Verify algebraic consistency across multi-stage systems Use transformations to derive experimentally relevant observables Covariance-Matrix Methods Apply covariance-matrix formalism to Gaussian quantum states Quantify correlations and noise properties Analyse the effect of loss on state covariance Evaluate squeezing and entanglement-related quantities Cross-check analytical results using alternative representations where appropriate Homodyne Detection & Sideband Spectra Derive sideband photocurrent spectra Analyse balanced or related homodyne-detection schemes Evaluate quadrature-dependent noise signatures Interpret measured or theoretical sideband behaviour Connect spectral features to underlying quantum-state properties Loss Modelling Model optical loss using fictitious beamsplitters Incorporate vacuum inputs and loss channels consistently Evaluate how losses affect correlations, squeezing, and interferometric sensitivity Identify incorrect or incomplete loss treatments Compare idealised and lossy-system predictions Squeezing & Hyperbolic Identities Apply squeeze-parameter hyperbolic identities Simplify and verify expressions involving two-mode squeezing Analyse relationships between gain, squeezing parameters, and measurable observables Evaluate entanglement and squeezing performance in lossy systems Check algebraic equivalence between alternative derivations Research Benchmark Evaluation Develop or review advanced quantum-optics benchmark solutions Identify conceptual, algebraic, or methodological errors Provide detailed technical feedback on competing derivations Distinguish physically meaningful differences from equivalent representations Support rigorous validation of research-level physics tasks Solver, Auditor & Adjudicator Responsibilities Serve as a Solver by independently deriving technically rigorous solutions Serve as an Auditor by checking calculations, assumptions, and physical interpretations Serve as an Adjudicator where competing approaches require expert comparison Document reasoning clearly and defensibly Adapt project responsibilities according to subfield expertise and seniority Ideal Profile PhD or equivalent research experience in AMO Physics, Quantum Optics, Quantum Information Science, or a closely related field Strong expertise with Bogoliubov transformations Demonstrated proficiency with covariance-matrix formalism Strong understanding of quantum-noise analysis Hands-on familiarity with homodyne detection Experience deriving or interpreting sideband photocurrent spectra Strong understanding of optical-loss modelling using fictitious beamsplitters Experience with two-mode squeezing Practical familiarity with squeeze-parameter hyperbolic identities Knowledge of cascaded optical parametric amplifiers Familiarity with SU(1,1) interferometry is highly valuable Ability to analyse lossy quantum systems rigorously Strong mathematical and analytical reasoning skills Ability to provide precise research-level written feedback No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required Engagement Details Independent contractor engagement Fully remote Compensation: $80-$160/hour Work will involve Bogoliubov transformations, covariance-matrix analysis, homodyne detection, sideband photocurrent spectra, loss modelling, squeezing analysis, and SU(1,1) interferometry Contributors may participate as Solvers, Auditors, or Adjudicators depending on expertise and seniority Strong hands-on quantum-optics and quantum-information experience is central to this engagement Assignments may involve analytical derivations, quantum-noise calculations, lossy interferometric systems, two-mode squeezing, and research-level benchmark evaluation Project scope, workload, physical systems, and evaluation standards may evolve depending on project requirements Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, research institution, laboratory, collaborator, or other third party About the Platform This opportunity is available through 24-MAG LLC.
