AMO Physicist for AI Training

Role Overview

Apply advanced AMO physics expertise to help train next-generation AI systems for a specialized project focused on atomic and optical properties. Your real-world scientific knowledge will inform how AI systems learn, reason, and perform. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert analysis of atomic, molecular, and optical physics, with emphasis on the optical properties of materials.
• Review, analyze, and discuss ab initio configuration interaction methods used to calculate polarizability in atomic systems.
• Provide guidance and critique on atomic-structure calculations for ytterbium isotopes Yb-171 and Yb-174.
• Identify and distinguish sigma and pi transitions in relevant atomic spectra, including the physical principles behind them.
• Take part in adaptive spoken AI interviews, answering one question at a time and sharing clear, concrete examples from legally shareable research or projects.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Physics, such as an M.S. or Ph.D., or equivalent experience, with a focus on AMO physics or optical properties of materials.
• Demonstrated experience with ab initio quantum chemistry calculations, particularly configuration interaction approaches to polarizability.
• Deep understanding of atomic-structure computation techniques, especially for Yb-171 and Yb-174.
• Ability to identify and explain sigma and pi transitions in atomic contexts.
• Clear, structured written and verbal scientific communication skills.

Work Terms

• Remote contract engagement.

Compensation

• $80 to $160 per hour.
