About the Position

Job Opportunity – Acute Leukemia and Hematology RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs; variable weekend coverage; 1:4-1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio

Highlights:

• Specialized acute leukemia and hematology unit caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
• High-acuity medical unit with significant blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
• Epic electronic medical records system with GE telemetry monitoring (B450 monitors)
• 24-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• 72-hour orientation period; chemo certification NOT required (ONS Chemo Cert preferred)
• Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Current/recent acute care experience (must be working consistently within the last 12 months)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line/PICC line management, and feeding tube care
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
