Senior Accountant

About this opportunityLocation: Dunwoody, Georgia The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the business while helping drive process improvements and financial reporting accuracy. This individual will work closely with finance leadership and operational stakeholders to ensure timely month-end close, support project accounting activities, and contribute to the successful implementation of Workday ERP.This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys working in a growing, project-based environment and is excited by process improvement and systems transformation initiatives.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Financial Reporting & Month-End Close Support and actively participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Assist with revenue and project accrual reviews to ensure accurate financial reporting. Support the preparation of monthly reporting packages and financial analysis. Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner. Cash & General Accounting Perform bank reconciliations and cash application activities. Support intercompany accounting and reconciliation processes across multiple entities. Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls. Assist in maintaining accurate and complete financial records. Project Accounting & Revenue Recognition Support project accounting activities across the business. Assist with revenue recognition processes and project financial reviews. Partner with operational teams to ensure project financial data is accurate and complete. Monitor project-related accruals and support forecasting activities. ERP Implementation & Process Improvement Support Workday ERP implementation activities, including: User acceptance testing (UAT) Process documentation Data validation and reconciliation Training and change management support Identify opportunities to improve, streamline, and standardize accounting processes. Assist in developing scalable procedures and controls to support continued business growth. Audit & Compliance Assist with internal and external audit requests. Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for audit reviews. Support compliance with accounting standards and company policies.Who we’re looking for:Experience, Knowledge and Key SkillsERP implementation or system transformation projects. Multi-entity accounting environments. Project-based accounting within professional services, construction consulting, engineering, or related industries. Strong ownership of month-end close activities. Revenue recognition and project accounting experience. Process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience with Workday or similar cloud-based ERP platforms.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Experience supporting month-end close processes and account reconciliations. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
