Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to gather detailed client histories and document cases from initial consultation through the completion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health using standardized assessment tools and clinical judgment, ensuring a holistic understanding of their needs.
\n
• Create tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic models.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing various therapeutic techniques to foster communication and healing among participants.
\n
• Continuously monitor client progress throughout the treatment plan, adjusting therapeutic approaches as necessary to promote optimal outcomes.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to develop and implement effective intervention strategies.

• Maintain communication with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding any clients who may need hospitalization or more intensive care.

• Identify and mitigate potential behaviors that may obstruct clients' recovery processes, actively engaging with family members and primary caregivers to provide guidance and support.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse client population, including individuals from various backgrounds presenting a range of mental health challenges such as anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related issues, and adjustment disorders. Your role is crucial in helping clients navigate their emotional struggles and encouraging their journey towards improved mental well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required. However, a Master’s or Doctoral degree in a relevant area is preferred.

• Current licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York is essential.

• Successful completion and passing of the NCE (National Counselor Examination) and/or the NCMHCE (National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination).

• Demonstrated clinical experience as a mental health counselor with a strong understanding of therapeutic modalities.

• Proficient in using electronic health record systems such as AVATAR for efficient client management and documentation.

Preferred Experience\n

• Demonstrated experience working with physical and emotional health conditions, including various addiction disorders.

• Familiarity with the best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• In-depth understanding of psychopharmacology and the effects of medications prescribed by healthcare professionals.
