The Fundraising Program Manager plays an important role on KQED’s Membership team, supporting the planning and execution of on-air fundraising drives, year-round fundraising campaigns, and third-party programs. Reporting to the Director of On-Air Fundraising & Third-Party Programs, this position helps coordinate the many details required to keep campaigns organized, on schedule, and aligned across teams.

The role is responsible for managing campaign timelines, coordinating meetings and deliverables, tracking results, and supporting communication with internal and external partners. The Fundraising Program Manager also conducts research, gathers data, and helps identify trends and opportunities that can inform future fundraising efforts.

The ideal candidate brings mid-level experience in membership, fundraising strategy, nonprofit analytics, or public media, or a related field. They are highly organized, comfortable working with data, able to manage multiple projects at once, and excited to contribute ideas while learning from experienced fundraising leaders. This is a role for someone who is genuinely energized by the question of what’s next in public media membership.

This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working remotely.

Essential Functions:

• Serve as a primary operational partner to the Director across all on-air fundraising drives and year-round membership campaigns.
• Own the radio spot schedule for drives: maintaining the master schedule, tracking production milestones, coordinating approvals, and ensuring spots are delivered on time and to spec.
• Manage campaign timelines and internal project coordination - tracking deliverables, flagging risks, and keeping cross-functional stakeholders aligned throughout each drive.
• Coordinate with vendors, freelancers, and production partners, ensuring external contributors have the assets, direction, and deadlines they need to deliver.
• Maintain campaign documentation, production archives, and operational records for the Membership team.
• Manage the testing and launch of each drive’s fundraising-free stream.
• Support real-time monitoring during pledge drives, surfacing issues and escalating to the Director as needed to keep campaigns and gift challenges on track.

Membership Drive Analytics & Performance Reporting

• Collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to ensure the right data is being captured, segmented, and surfaced for membership decision-making.
• Manage dashboards and regular performance reports tracking key metrics across drives and year-round efforts.
• Conduct post-campaign analysis following fundraising drives, identifying patterns, anomalies, and opportunities to test in future cycles.
• Translate campaign data into clear, actionable insights the Director and broader team can act on, not just reporting what happened, but what it means.
• Support the team with shared reporting and cross-channel performance analysis where audio and digital campaigns intersect. 

• Track emerging giving models and sector trends, and translate findings into clear recommendations that shape how KQED’s membership program evolves.
• Monitor giving model innovation across public media and the broader nonprofit sector and benchmark KQED against peer organizations to identify gaps and opportunities.
• Evaluate new strategies for organizational fit and feasibility, then produce strategy memos and recommendation briefs that equip the Director and VP of Membership to make decisions.
• Serve as a thought partner to the Director, pressure-testing ideas, contributing to strategic planning, and bringing an external perspective to internal discussions.

Candidate Qualifications:

• 4–6 years of experience in membership strategy, fundraising analytics, public media, nonprofit research, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience owning a research or analytical function and producing recommendations that influenced organizational strategy.
• Experience providing operational or project coordination support in a campaign or fundraising environment.

• Comfort working with donor or audience data: pulling reports, building dashboards, interpreting trends, and communicating findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write crisp research briefs, strategy memos, and presentation materials that move people to decisions.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and donor data tools (ROI Solutions preferred) and experience with reporting or analytics platforms.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams, including with data, digital, programming, and product functions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing sight of the big picture.
