Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized mental health nursing care to patients with psychiatric conditions in a dynamic healthcare environment. Ensure patient safety, support therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with the healthcare team to promote recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' mental and physical health needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions, documenting responses accurately.
• Implement therapeutic interventions and facilitate group or individual counseling sessions.
• Maintain a safe environment by managing patient behaviors and responding to emergencies.
• Document patient progress and update treatment plans in compliance with facility protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license in the state of North Carolina or appropriate state licensure.
• Possess at least 2 years of clinical experience in behavioral health or psychiatry.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing practices, protocols, and medications.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
• Maintain CPR and behavioral health crisis intervention certifications.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts, in a fast-paced environment.
