Position Highlights Work-Life Balance

Manageable workload
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
No on-call responsibilities
Academic Partnership: Affiliated with Wake Forest

Benefits

Compensation: Competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off annually, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for continuing medical education (CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and a federal 401K with contributions of up to 5% from the organization
Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many federal insurance options can be continued into retirement)
Licensure: One full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory
CME: Potential reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year
Malpractice: Liability protection provided at no cost, including tail coverage
Contract: No employment contract for physicians and minimal restrictions on outside work

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA policy.
Education: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is mandatory.
Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
Residency: Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty is required.
Board Certification: Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Internal or Family Medicine.
