Mechanical Designer II

Job Description Job Summary Designs, develops, creates models/assemblies with CAD for various types of HVAC equipment. Essential Responsibilities / Activities Uses computer design software (CAD) to develop models and drawings. Generate conceptual and preliminary drawings to be used for development of product. Tasked with updates and revisions to existing designs, as well as assist with new product design. Designer will help to troubleshoot issues on the line. Keeps up with the processing of orders in house (SPAS). Expected to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under guidance of other design Engineers. Will be competent in independent work. Confers with engineering management to complete assigned projects. Collaborates with Engineers, management, and other creative departments to determine design solutions. Provides complete bill of material by defining when, where, and why parts are used. Maintains and builds professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, or participating in professional societies. Travels when necessary Education and Experience Requirements Degree(s): Two-year technical degree preferred. License(s): None Certification(s): None Minimum of 3-5 years in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry. Essential Mental Functions Communicates effectively in written and spoken form. Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills. Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem-solving abilities. Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills. Works effectively in a team environment. Works effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment. Essential Physical Functions Lift up to 50lbs. Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours. Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
