Travel Registered Nurse ER Job

Overview
Registered Nurse – ER, Boston, MA, United States. Travel - temporary assignment starting 09/07/2026 for 18 weeks with 48 guaranteed hours per week on 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM). Weekly pay range: $2,203–$2,319. This is a high-volume ED setting in a hospital environment. The role may involve floating to Psych ED and Pediatric ED (age 15+) as needed. Must remain through 01/09/2027. While 36-hour contracts may be considered, the preferred schedule is 48 hours per week.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the ED for adults and adolescents (age 15+), including triage, assessment, stabilization, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Monitor telemetry, interpret rhythm strips, identify rhythm abnormalities and blocks, and respond per established protocols; complete Telemetry Test on Day 1 (85%+).
- Administer medications and interventions per physician orders; monitor patient response and document in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to manage patient flow in a busy ED and participate in handoffs and rounds; ensure safety, infection control, and adherence to policies.
- Provide care that may include floating to Psych ED and Pediatric ED as needed; tailor care for non-pediatric populations and maintain comfort for patients and families.
- Educate patients and families, provide discharge instructions, and coordinate resources for follow-up care.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (Massachusetts) or current eligibility for practice in the assignment state
- BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certificates active/unexpired
- Minimum ED experience: 1.5 years of recent Level I/II ED experience or 2+ years of recent Level 3/4 ED experience
- Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips; identify heart blocks; pass Telemetry Test on Day 1 (85%+)
- Flexibility to work 12-hour night shifts and to float to Psych ED and Pediatric ED as needed
- Education: RN program completion from an accredited nursing education program
