Surgery Scheduler/Benefits Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler/Benefits Coordinator to join our busy OB/GYN practice. This full-time position is ideal for an experienced medical office professional who excels in patient communication, scheduling, and insurance coordination. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive timely, compassionate, and efficient care throughout the surgical process. Responsibilities Schedule outpatient and hospital surgical procedures for physicians. Coordinate surgery dates with hospitals, surgical centers, physicians, and patients. Verify insurance benefits, obtain prior authorizations, and ensure required documentation is completed. Communicate surgery instructions, pre-operative requirements, and appointment details to patients. Maintain accurate patient records and update scheduling information in the electronic medical record (EMR). Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure all pre-operative testing and clearances are completed. Respond to patient questions regarding scheduling, insurance benefits, and surgical preparation. Work closely with providers and office staff to ensure a seamless patient experience. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Previous medical scheduling experience is required . Experience scheduling surgeries and coordinating insurance benefits is strongly preferred. Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medical terminology. Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail. Outstanding communication and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced medical office environment. Experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Office is preferred.
