Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist is either registered or certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care to provide Cardiopulmonary Services. This role involves following established protocols approved by the medical staff and adhering to department policies and procedures to ensure timely diagnostic and therapeutic services for both inpatients and outpatients.

Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Deliver medicated aerosols using medical compressed gas.
• Maintain airways and manage ventilators.
• Insert arterial lines and perform intubations.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies.
• Administer cardiac and pulmonary stress tests.
• Perform blood gas analysis.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including intubation experience.
• Current NBRC RRT or CRT certification.
• Valid Illinois Respiratory Therapist license.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
