Independence Home Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant for flexible, contract-based home health work throughout Columbus and surrounding areas, including Delaware, Grove City, Newark, and locations in between. Choose the service area and number of visits that fit your goals, whether you are seeking supplemental income or a full-time schedule. Visits are approximately 35 minutes, with a higher per-visit rate. This 1099 position does not include tax withholding or benefits.

Responsibilities Assist with prescribed home health treatment plans for patients with neurological conditions, post-surgical rehabilitation needs, mobility limitations, and mixed diagnoses. Guide therapeutic exercises and support gait, mobility, and transfer training. Assess and promote home safety during patient visits. Monitor patient progress and communicate updates with the supervising physical therapist. Coordinate care case by case with the interdisciplinary home health team. Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility strategies, and safe care techniques. Complete mobile documentation after each visit. Communicate with patients and coordinate care plans as needed.

Preferred Qualifications Entry-level experience in physical therapy assistance. Associate degree from an accredited physical therapist assistant program. State of Ohio Physical Therapist Assistant license. CPR certification. Knowledge of therapeutic exercise, gait training, and transfer techniques. Experience with home health documentation, electronic health records, and patient education.
