Payroll Clerk

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations for a well-established nonprofit organization in San Diego. This role is responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time while maintaining employee payroll records, tracking accruals, and assisting employees with payroll-related questions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and within established deadlines
• Review employee timecards and verify approvals are completed prior to payroll processing
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including pay rate changes, direct deposits, tax withholdings, benefits updates, and employee status changes
• Process payroll setup and record updates for new hires
• Track employee accrual balances, including vacation, sick leave, personal time, and wellness days
• Research, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Respond to employee payroll-related questions in a professional and timely manner
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of employee payroll information
• Support payroll recordkeeping and documentation compliance requirements

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of payroll processing experience
• Experience utilizing payroll systems; ADP Workforce Now preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
• Strong data entry and recordkeeping skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Preferred

• Experience supporting payroll and HR administration functions
• Experience maintaining employee records and payroll documentation
• Knowledge of payroll compliance and timekeeping practices
• Experience working within nonprofit or service-based organizations
