Accountant
The City of Elmira is recruiting for a full-time Accountant to work in our Chamberlain's Department. Duties include, but not limited to, performing professional accounting work including the maintenance of accounting records, payroll, preparation of reports and establishment of new accounting systems.Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field, including or supplemented by 18 semester credit hours in accounting; or an Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field, including or supplemented by the 12 semester credit hours in accounting and two years of experience in professional accounting or financial auditing. Candidate will be required take a Civil Service examination and must score in the top 3. Starting salary is $61,653.
