Job Title: Windows Server Hyper-V Consultant

Location: Round Rock, TX (Hybrid Onsite)

Contract Duration: 6+ months with strong possibility of long-term extension

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Windows Server Hyper-V Consultant for a hybrid onsite role in Round Rock, TX. This position offers a 6-month contract with a strong possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft Hyper-V, Storage Spaces Direct (S2D), and advanced PowerShell scripting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bring the current environment up to speed and implement next-generation solutions.
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions to ensure smooth transitions.
• Review and analyze the existing setup, providing recommendations and making necessary adjustments.
• Confidently recommend and assist in setting up and fixing the environment.

Must-Have Skills:

• Expertise in Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Advanced knowledge of Storage Spaces Direct (S2D).
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
• Advanced understanding of Windows Clustering and Hyper-V.
• Design and architecture skills related to S2D, Windows Clusters, and Hyper-V.
• Strong networking, general Windows, and patch/update process skills.
• Software knowledge, including reviewing software, strong scripting, and coding abilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Excellent communication, command, and leadership skills.
• Experience with AX Nodes setting.
• Strong technical writing skills.

Scope of Work:

• Assess and enhance the current environment built from the ground up with Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Work with existing scripts and recommend alternatives where necessary.
• Ensure the environment is not Azure Stack but a pure Windows Server 2022 with Hyper-V and S2D.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Technologically confident with the ability to recommend and implement solutions.
