Quality Technician - Day Shift

Quality Control And Quality Assurance SpecialistResponsible for performing various functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations, including visual and dimensional inspections as defined by our Standard Operating Procedures required for the preparation of customer first article, cost of quality and related quality operations metrics. Make use of sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate data to assist in assessing and documenting results of quality assurance and control processes (e.g. SPC, GR&R, and POR). Collect, synthesize and publish key quality operational metrics, (e.g. COPQ, QPPM, RMA, DMR, NC). May assist Quality or Manufacturing Engineering in developing methods and procedures for quality assurance and control. Works with engineers and other subject matter experts to conduct process assessments.Focus on accuracy and detail to meet company quality standardsPrepare, publish and submit Customer First Article ReportsComplete regular Quality Operation Metric Reports to management for reviewComplete AQL sampling or 100% inspection and maintain complete and accurate inspection reports as requiredUtilize various measuring equipment to measure and collect data to determine component acceptanceGenerate Nonconformance or Discrepant Material Reports to record and control all nonconforming materialQualifications:2- or 4-year degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience3-5 years in Quality Control or Quality Assurance related role, preferably in a manufacturing related industryRequires basic knowledge of knowledgeable in GD&TRequires basic knowledge to read and interpret engineering drawingsKnowledge and use of precision testing equipment and tools (caliper, micrometer, pin gage, profilometer)Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio is essentialAbility to communicate clearly at various levels of the organization, with suppliers and customers.Teamwork orientation is essential in this roleExperience with ERP systems is a plus (Epicor, Vantage, Oracle, SAP)At FM Industries our success is powered by people and technology.
