Employee responsible for additional employee and spouse/children coverage elections./ppGENERAL JOB SUMMARY:/ppThe General Maintenance Worker shall be responsible for performing routine maintenance duties including rough carpentry, painting, and basic equipment or facility repairs. All carpentry, electrical work, or simple plumbing repairs are performed under supervision by qualified personnel./ppESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:/pulliCollaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment./liliStart machines/equipment and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems./liliLubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures./liliReassemble equipment after the completion of repair or maintenance work./liliChange light bulbs, may replace fixtures, and perform similar minor electrical tasks./liliOpen clogged drains, repair leaks, and perform other simple plumbing jobs./liliAssist with loading or unloading trucks and moving furniture when needed./liliMaintain tools and maintenance equipment in working order./liliComply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area, shop, and company vehicles./li/ulpQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate./liliMinimum of two (2) years experience in the maintenance field./liliMust have knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the general maintenance field./liliMust be able to perform simple tasks independently after given specific instructions./liliMust be able to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams./liliMust have a working knowledge and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations./liliMust possess a valid drivers license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment./liliMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment and to obtain access to federal installations./li/ulpWORK ENVIRONMENT:/ppThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
