Group 1 Automotive Flat-Rate Technician

Group 1 Automotive is growing fast and looking to add four production-driven Flat-Rate Technicians (Flag) to our GMC Southwest team.

If you have at least six months of flagged production experience and are motivated by efficiency, quality work, and strong earning potential, this is an excellent opportunity to join a high-volume shop and accelerate your career!

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality repairs efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards
• Conduct comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing on automotive systems
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Road-test vehicles to verify successful repairs
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
• Provide timely updates to service advisors on repair status and estimated completion times for customer communication.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technology
• Uphold company values in all interactions with customers, coworkers, and vendors

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of flat-rate/flagged production experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver license in the state that you will work and a good driving record
• National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s) or certification(s) in different specialized areas such as brakes, electrical/electronic systems or engine performance preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Professional appearance and work ethic
• Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening
