DutiesIncumbent serves as a Senior IT Specialist for the En Route & Oceanic 2nd Level Engineering Group, System Engineering Team. The incumbent is responsible for supporting to En Route, Oceanic, and Decision Support systems from the William J. Hughes Technical Center. Serves as a database administrator responsible for maintaining a successful database environment on one or more supported systems primarily on Linux based environments using Enterprise Level Oracle databases.Incumbent will be responsible for various database related duties including:Database designDatabase maintenance, management, migration, backup and restoreDatabase integration with COTS productsDatabase monitoring and scriptingDatabase modelingDatabase application access managementDatabase performance monitoringReal Time Troubleshooting of Enterprise Level DatabasesWriting complex queries to pull system informationOptimization of database queriesWorking within team made up a various functional groups (e.g. software, engineering, test, field support)Providing site support services to assist in troubleshooting and/or remediation of system issuesIncumbent will attend system project meetings and collaborate with functional teams for database needs of the organization. Assist in preparation of presentations and supporting materials to facilitate meetings. Contribute to weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc progress reports.Performs a mixture of routine and varying assignments under the minimal direction of a manager. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team.
