Overview Arcadia Police Department seeks dedicated law‑enforcement officers committed to community service, professionalism, and integrity. Compensation and Benefits Police Officer annual salary ranges from $93,468 (First Step) to $129,000 (Last Step) with adjustments for Associate, Bachelor, POST Intermediate, and POST Advanced degrees. Special Assignment Pay: 5% extra, Special Assignment Stipend: $62.51/month. Bilingual Pay: $106.32/month, Longevity Pay starting year 5. Other perks: tuition advancement/reimbursement, uniform allowance, city‑paid annual physicals. Responsibilities Patrol the City on foot or in vehicle, enforce laws, prevent crime, conduct investigations, apprehend offenders, testify in court. Respond to public calls: domestic disturbances, civil complaints, accidents, robberies, and other incidents. Collect, process, photograph, and submit evidence; interview victims and witnesses; obtain statements; prepare reports on arrests and activities. Cooperate with other agencies, maintain public relations, participate in community outreach and education, and keep accurate records. Execute specialized duties based on assigned role (Detective, Field Training Officer, SWAT Officer, K‑9 Officer, Traffic Officer, M.A.I.T. Officer, Range Master, C.Y.S. Officer, Y.E.S. Officer). Qualifications One year of public‑facing experience and current California peace officer status (or other state peace officer with California P.O.S.T. Waiver). Completion of P.O.S.T. Academy (twelfth grade equivalent) and graduation certificate. Valid driver’s license and P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate. Knowledge of federal, state, local law‑enforcement agencies, criminal law principles, community policing practices, and safe driving. Skill in operating firearms, modern police equipment, computers, motor vehicles, and communication systems. Ability to complete P.O.S.T. training, learn policing methods, interpret evidence, prepare reports, exercise judgment, and communicate effectively. Special Requirements Physical tasks: sit, stand, walk, run, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 100 lbs.; tolerate cold, heat, noise, vibration, chemicals, explosives, mechanical and electrical hazards; travel to various sites; be available for shift, on‑call, and stand‑by duties.
